This bed's headboard is inspired from a window shoji in Kyoto that is much smaller. I took the elements from Asian architecture and combined it with a European platform bed.

The bed is made from solid Makore, and background of the headboard is fiddle-back Sycamore. There are 17 Ash slats supporting the mattress and on three of the slates there is a center foot for added support. If one would like a softer feel you can experiment removing a few slates.

Queen size bed is pictured; Headboard Height: 59 inches, depth 3 ½ inches, and width 64 ½ inches. With the top piece and overhang the width is 71 ½ inches. A queen size mattress is 60x80 inches.
