Description
This
well balanced and beautiful lingerie chest has many features.
First it is made from the finest quality woods, and is
crafted with great care and patience that is evident throughout the
piece.
There are a total of seven drawers available with two narrow
drawers that can be use for jewelry.
The padding and the grate for the jewelry drawers can be
removed if desired. When
opening the doors you will see three shelves provided to store
larger garments. The
back side of each door contains a mirror for you.
There are repeating elements throughout the piece that
produces patterns. The
bottom arched is duplicated on the sides as well as the top of the
doors. The 22.5 degree
bevel is repeated on the bottom side arch support, bottom shelf,
along with the enclosed shelves, trim piece on the side top, and
there is a bevel on the top.
Woods
The
sides are 'steamed Beech' that are book-matched the full length
providing an elegant wave pattern.
The carcass is made from ‘steamed Cherry’ that will
become darker with age. The
doors are made from English Elm Burl that is four quarter
book-matched producing a wonderful pattern that looks like an ink
blot. The drawers are
made from Beech, and the pattern is book-matched making the same
pattern as the side. The
fronts are cut and selected from a continuous piece, thus the
pattern flows from one drawer to the next.
The beading around the drawers is rosewood which accents each
drawer. The drawer sides
are from Eastern Hard Maple and the joints are half bind dovetails.
Hardware
The
iron pulls are handmade in Japan in a small village in the Mie
province. The wood pulls
are made in Japan and the woods is a composite of cherry and a
lighter wood.
