Joinery:

Floating mortise and tenon joinery.

Wood & Materials:

The doors are book matched Quilted maple and all door pulls are carved from Rosewood. Bubinga is the other wood which is used for the sides, base, and back. The beading is rosewood and the small drawers (inside) are bubinga.

Unusual Techniques & Hardware:

The requirements for this cabinet was to show off the wood while allowing the containment of the owners meditation center. The inside drawers contain small items while a large statue can be displayed to the right of them. Another requirement was for the table to hold small items that did not have to moved when the doors are opened.

To fill these requirements I was inspired by James Krenov and his display cases. I took the Krenov look and changed it to met the requirements.
