Even at an early age I have always enjoyed working with my hands and being creative. Working with wood is challenging and rewarding for me because it is my passion. My first career was in animal husbandry and I managed multiple pure-breed diary operations. After the realization the amount of work did not equal the rewards I decided to get a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin and try the corporate world. I enjoyed the challenges because it exercised my mind; however I missed working with my hands. My woodworking hobby grew into a passion, which in turn became my profession. I am self-taught; but I have obtained professional training to speed up the learning and proficiency curve. My style incorporates clean lines that produce exceptional pieces of furniture that are functional, and can be considered art. I emphasize and incorporate flowing lines that are attractive, elegant, and depictive of nature. My style is based on the traditional design with influence from Asian and Shaker design. I have been incorporating more decorative details such as inlays, and using highly figured woods in my work. I like the use of highly figured woods because of its organic characteristics and what I call the wow or knockout factor. My pieces are part of me because of the care and attention I put into them. It is my desire to share my work with you and to have my work take on a life of their own. My philosophy is basic: smile and enjoy whatever you do with a passion and remember that your world is what you make of it.
